Air Fryer XL: The All-around Air Fryer?

Spread the love

Most of us know that air fryers are the way to go when we want convenient and healthier food, but what happens when an air fryer can do it all? You name it — frying, baking, roasting, grilling, and even sautéing. In a world of basics, the Air Fryer XL dared to be different, but is it really a cut above the rest?

In this article, we are going to scrutinize the ins and outs of the claims of the Air Fryer XL, because, with such huge assertions like these, it should also be backed up with results. Let us find out if this is the next groundbreaking air fryer to add to your household.

  • This air fryer boasts six cooking features namely: air fry, grill, roast, bake, saute, and steam.
  • It comes with a recipe book with over 100 recipes by Eric Theiss.
  • It also comes with a pizza pan, tongs, and baking inserts.
  • The technology behind air frying is also that of the rapid kind.
  • The settings are digital and are usually only pressed once.
  • It can cook with less or no oil.
  • The maximum temperature is 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Almost anything can be cooked or fried in this machine.

  • You can use the air fryer for a lot of different purposes with its six cooking functions.
  • It cooks extremely fast so the rapid air technology is really paying off, at the same time it can make very crispy food.
  • You can cook food even without using oil, so you are guaranteed that what you get is healthier than deep fried food.
  • It has a fairly decent high-temperature capacity that can cook specific food that needs to be cooked at a high temperature.
  • The frying technique keeps the freshness and moisture of the ingredients, but at the same time gives it a good texture.

  • There is a flaw in its design. The coating easily comes off due to exposure to high temperature.
  • There is also a design flaw with the basket. It does not really give much space for your hands to put the basket in. You practically have to toss the basket inside the machine.
  • There would definitely be a learning curve in using this one. Switching from one mode to other or even combining modes can somehow be confusing. But once you get the hang of it, it would work wonders.
  • You still have to do a bit of dirty work for your food to cook evenly. This machine does not come with an auto flip technology, so you have to stop the cooking process in order to flip what you are cooking. If you do not do this, you risk your food getting burned.
  • When you flip your food, the basket will not slide all the way into the slot. You have to wait for it to cool so you can find the proper direction for it to fit. This immensely disrupts the cooking process.
  • When it reaches the highest temperature, it has the tendency not to maintain that temperature thus, the cooking temperature would change and could potentially ruin what you are cooking.
  • It does not have any safeguards. If you forget to unplug it, this machine could easily be a fire hazard.

Summary of Features

The Air Fryer XL is an air fryer that has six cooking functions which are saute, steam, bake, grill, roast, and air fry. You can cook a lot of different dishes with just one equipment and without even using oil.

It has rapid air technology that your food would retain its moisture, but at the same time provides you with the crispiest texture imaginable. You can switch from one cooking mode to another with just a touch of a button.

However, you still need to keep an eye on what you are cooking as you need to manually flip your food so you can be assured that it is cooked through.

Comparison with Philips XL Airfryer

Both the Air Fryer XL and the Philips XL Airfryer have a lot of cooking functions. They both also do good in fulfilling these cooking modes. However, the Philips XL Airfryer fails in comparison due to its faulty design. Its exterior is not as durable as the Air Fryer XL.

The Air Fryer XL might have a bit more than it can chew. The whole idea of having a lot of functions is really nice, but using it is very inconvenient.

Is it really necessary for us to stop the cooking process just so we can flip our food? That’s very inconvenient, right? Then you’ll realize later on that you cannot put back the basket as it cannot slide right in due to the hot temperature. However, we choose the Air Fryer XL over the Philips XL Airfryer, because the latter tends to fall apart, especially the equipment coating when used often.

At the same time, there are just too many disadvantages to enjoy the great features of this machine. Clearly, the approach to having an all in one air fryer is ideal, but their execution lacked substance.
